It's not Him, but a REPLICA

Please find time to read the little story

About three phones have gone missing in our room in the past five months. When we reported to the School's security, they only told us that it was a roommate that is
responsible. Everyone of us in the room was waiting for the day we will catch the culprit.

Last Tuesday, when we were all asleep; I think it was about 2 am, Ben woke up suddenly and his phone was gone. His phone was the most expensive of us all. When Ben woke up and couldn't find his phone, he sprang up from the bed and quickly
opened his cupboard. He rummaged the contents, even removed his clothes but could still not find the phone. I was in the room when it happened; sitting and reading
before I dozed off with my head resting on my books. So when Ben couldn't find his phone, he gently shook my shoulders until I woke up. 'It has happened again', he told
me.

I didn't even need to ask what happened as I could see the
panic and loss written in his eyes.
This is the second time his phone had been stolen. So I took my phone and dialed Ben's number; just to be sure it had not been misplaced. 'Error in
Connection' was what I saw on the screen of my phone. I dialed it again and it started ringing not just on my phone, but the actual ring tone of Ben's Samsung phone was faintly
audible. We were both surprised when we heard the tone. I beckoned
on Ben to keep quiet as he was visibly ready to 'finish' the person who took
his phone. I continued dialing as we moved silently, following the direction of the ring tone. There were four bunks in the room, each with two bed spaces. Ben and I use the same bunk just beside the door and the sound was coming from the last bunk at the extreme left corner.

We tiptoed, Ben and I, like Jack Baeur until we traced the sound to the top bed space on the last bunk. 'So it is John who had been stealing phones in this room'. Ben whispered to me.
We shook his leg and woke him up only to find out it was not John sleeping on the mattress. Neither of us had ever seen the guy before. To make matters worse, the ringing was coming from the bag he was using as pillow. When he woke up, he looked at us strangely as if he didn't know why we were there. We opened the bag and found not just Ben's Samsung, but three other phones. 'So, you are the one who's been stealing our phones!'; Ben shouted at him.
Before he could find an excuse, Ben slapped him on his left cheek and walked out looking for anything to break one or two of the guy's bones. I don't know; but there was something about the guy. So I asked him,
'Oga, what are you doing here?' 'What are you doing with Ben's phone'. He was just looking at me without saying anything, so I slapped his right cheek with my left hand.

'ANSWER ME!', I screamed at him; waking up the roommates who were around. John had obviously gone to
night class to read and I assumed the other three roommates who
were absent had also gone to read.
The two guys remaining in the room
with me and Ben came and gave their own round of slaps. The accused was now staggering when Ben came back with a long wood hard enough to kill the guy. As he raised it up, the three of us, the roommates, held his hands so he wouldn't murder the accused. Ben dropped the wood and swept
his right leg against the thief's legs and he fell down. Ben had told me before that he had attended the Soldiers' recruitment training but failed the medical test. I believed him right then. I looked at the guy crumple on the floor and before Ben
killed him, I decided to interview him, at least to know who he is. He was now sitting on the ground where he landed from Ben's force. 'Who are you?' I asked him again; this time gently. He was crying but it was only the tears that were coming out. It was then I realized he had not even uttered a word since it all started. Not even when he fell to the ground. 'Why are you in our room'? I asked again. 'Can you even talk?' He shook his head then. I was now confused.
Why was he shaking his head?
So, I asked again, 'Can't you talk?' He shook his head again.
'Wait, is it that this guy is dumb?', I asked the guys. The guy then nodded his head and pointed to his mouth and then shook his head left to right. It hit me then. The guy is dumb but not deaf. That was the first time I am seeing a case like that.

My anger changed to pity immediately. 'Are you dumb?', I
ashamedly asked the guy to confirm. Again, he nodded his head.
'Can you read and write?' He nodded again. 'Get me a pen and note!' I said to my roommates over my shoulder. I
collected the pen and wrote on the note, 'Who are you? Explain yourself.' I was almost in tears as I read his fine
handwriting, 'My name is James, I am John's elder brother.
I am a student of Delta State
University. I was traveling to Delta but our bus stopped for the night at Benin. So I decided to sleep with my brother till tomorrow morning. He
brought me here around 12 am and went out to night class to read. He gave me the bag to keep for him. So I decided to use it as pillow so that it won't be stolen'.
I held the note with the guys at my back as all of us read it. I became so weak I almost fell. 'The guy is innocent.' I needlessly announced.
When we realized this, even I was ashamed of myself. Ben just stood there with the wood he almost used to hit him, looking as if he was the one who had been beaten. I am not sure, but I think I saw tears in his eyes as he realized he had just punished an innocent man.
So we knelt down; Ben and I, we knelt down and clasped our hands so he will know we were really sorry. With tears in our eyes, we told him, 'We are sorry. Sorry for accusing you
wrongly and beating you for it'. The dumb guy just smiled with bleeding lips from the blow I gave him. He smiled and looked into our eyes. And I could see pity in his eyes. He smiled and shook his head and then wrote in
the same paper. 'It is Alright. I took the pain willingly. Please don't beat my brother anymore. I knew why
you were beating me. John had always been a thief, right
from home. But please don't report or beat him again'. Tears dropped from my eyes as I read his sacrifice. He
deliberately allowed us beat him just so that John will be free. I lend my hand and raised him up as I used my
cloth to wipe the tears from his face and blood from his lips. It was then my own tears flowed from the
corners of my eyes.
..
Although this story is 100% fiction, this is what Jesus did for us on the cross of calvary. kept quiet and even died so that we can be saved. He never protested his innocence but
bore it all for us. He gave his life for you. What have you given for him?

WHEN THE CHURCH IS NO MORE CONDUCIVE!!!

... Copied
WHEN THE CHURCH IS NO MORE CONDUCIVE

When we can no longer differentiate  a church from a social gathering,
And all what we do in church is to just have fun
When we can’t  differentiate a choir from an harlot
And an usher is not different  from a waiter
When the church is no more conducive
Where shall we go?

When  worship session in a church is just like a disco night
and we cant differentiate a pastor from a comedian
When salvation message is no longer the order of the day
but prosperity and entertainment message is now the core course
When the church is no more conducive
Where shall we go?

When prayer warrior now have to go to tongue-speaking school for utterances
And deliverance and healing session is now like MTH 201 to be taught and learned
When pastor have to pause  for members to clap and shout during sermon in enthusiasm
And all what we now gain from preaching is now new vocabulary and word usage
When the church is no more conducive
Where shall we go?

When the church of God is now an exhibition ground  for the latest designer
And those new convert can no longer come to  church for the fear of being inferior
When the tithe and offering in church have to suffer for anniversary attire
And the little ones from the faithful member have to suffer for pastor’s birthday
When the church is no more conducive
Where shall we go?

Where shall we go is the question right;   But never a rhetoric one
Where we can go is simply the feet of the old rugged cross
And plead for the revival  of the church of our father
Because when Jesus shall  appear to examine his church
The question of “where to go” will never be an excuse

Even the elect will not be excluded.  Watch & pray!!

He knows how. He knows what?

This came as a blessing from a friend:
Jehovah Tailoreee...
The Lord that fixes me.
On Saturday I urgently needed to fix my suit trouser as I needed to appear LIKE a Man of God where I was to speak that day. I took the cloth to my tailor and asked him to fix the LITTLE opening near the pocket.
The guy turned the cloth inside out and then began to TEAR the pocket with his hands... Hah! I was
like,
"I said you should sew, not tear"...
So I shouted,
'You are tearing my cloth o'
But he replied
"I KNOW".
Those two words sank into me like a heavy stone sinks in water. I couldn't talk again...
He's the tailor, and I'm just a customer. Even though I couldn't relate tearing with sewing but the Tailor says "I KNOW".
Child of God I bring you good tidings today... God is saying, 'I KNOW'...
I hear your complaints and you should also hear His reply. When you say;
Father, My fiancee just left me... I know
I have no man to pay my fees... I know
Landlord is about to kicking me out...  I know
No friends and family... I know
Bank account is red and I'm about to declare bankruptcy.. I know
I was rejected at the embassy again... I know
So many times when the Lord is fixing us, He starts by 'tearing' us. Tearing our confidence in ourselves, Tearing all our philosophies, Tearing our pride and fake humility, Tearing the things we call dear and giving us the truly dear things.
The only thing necessary is wisdom... Wisdom to know when it is the Lord and When it isn't the Lord... The devil tears to kill God tears to Fix. God tears the old to give you the new.
God's teary fire only refines His own. God's teary approaches only yields the peaceable fruit of Righteousness.
So in reality, God tears no man... He only makes... We call it tearing, He calls it Making. We call it breaking... He calls it building. He knows you have need even before you ask... That's why when we complain... He responds thus:
I KNOW
Jeremiah 29:11 For I KNOW the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Trust God...
My cloth came out better. You are coming out better too.

Heaven @ Last.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL, Sunday August 23, 2015

Topic: HEAVEN AT LAST

MEMORY VERSE: In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. - John 14:2

READ: Revelation 21:1-8
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

MESSAGE
You may have wondered in your heart, "Of what benefit is it to me to deny myself the pleasures of sin by living a holy life?" I have good news for you: it is of great benefit. One major benefit of living a holy life is the assurance of making it to Heaven. Our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 5:8 said:

"Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God."

Many people are being deceived today by the doctrine that says you can still make it to Heaven even when you live in sin, so far as you have confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Don't be deceived; Heaven is not for everyone. It is not for sinners, nor is it for the wicked; it is for the pure in heart. Heaven is not for souls confessing salvation but still living in sin. Nothing that is defiled or tarnished with sin can be allowed into Heaven (Revelation 21:27). It is a prepared place for a prepared people. Nobody can get there by wishful thinking. The Lord Jesus Christ has gone ahead of us to prepare a place for us, and He will definitely return to take us there (John 14:1-3). Will you be among those who will be welcomed into Heaven? Beloved, many people are fast shifting their focus away from heaven to earth. In fact, Satan is giving some people a very comfortable piece of the world so that they will forget about Heaven. Is comfort or wealth eroding your faith in Christ? Are wealth and earthly pleasure replacing God in your heart? Don't let anything good or bad hinder you from making it to Heaven!

Living a life of holiness is also of benefit to your life on earth. One of such benefits is the anointing. Hebrews 1:9 says:

 "Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows."

"Oil" in this Scripture symbolises the Holy Spirit. If you want the anointing, you must live a holy life. If you want the power of God to move freely through your life and ministry, you must be holy. In fact, the degree to which you are holy will determine the extent of the anointing upon your life. Based on this, you can easily tell that those ministers of the gospel who appear to be highly anointed but lack holiness must have gotten their power from some other source and not God. If you want power from God, you cannot get it by compromising with sin. Are you living a holy life?

KEY POINT
God can only entrust you with His power if you are living a life of holiness.

The report came on-time
The situation took place at the appropriate time
You were within reach
You were so close
lifetime question!!!
These were Your loved ones
A timely occurrence;
A timely information;
A timely approach;
All but happened when it should.
After all been said,
You Choose to abode two (2) more days
And yet another two (2) more days.
What business do You have at the same place?
What were You looking for again in Judea?
Where You were declared 'wanted' like a criminal;
The Jews wanted to stone You;
Yet You would go! Why?
But Why?
What was so important than the life of Your dear friend?
What was so necessary that needs Your attention?
Why can't You adjust Your schedule?
Where were You going?
What were You doing?
You could have come when 'they' needed You;
But You choose otherwise;
You delayed for four (4) days;
For What? For Where?
NO ONE KNEW; JESUS CAME VERY LATE!!!
Friends;
You've probably wondered;
Why is it taking long;
Where is God when You need Him 'Now'
What is He doing?
You've done all you're told:
Praised; Prayed; Paid; Prophesied; Proclaimed!
What else?
RELAX YOUR NERVE FRIEND.
When it seems He's late;
When it seems He's no where;
And now it's very late for you to:
Give-birth; Get Married; Get Job; Get-up; etc
JESUS asked 'em "Where have you laid him?"
The bad news is: You're tired of all the mess
The good news is: He's ready for all of it.
The great news is: JESUS will come for you at that same point;
Stay where you are;
Stay where the situation places you;
Just stay, but while staying pls and pls sent for HIM;
Ask Him to come;
He might not be on Your time;
But, He's never late;
Look not at your calendar;
He has His own timing and calendar.
In HIS calendar is your set-date for Visitation;
"Wait on The Lord, be of good courage;
He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on The Lord."
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE HE IS...
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT HE IS DOING...
YOU SHOULD JUST WAIT... HOPE FAILETH NOT!!!
Amen... Hope You're blessed!
Shalom!! Share..

Which ONE comes first?

The question is: "between the egg and the chicken, which one comes first?
Let's have your take.!!!  Comments...

Where not to DIE!

Where not to die!
You might wondered what a topic. Never mind. In the water, acquatic animals can die there. But when you find a dead fish on land, you wondered 'how come'?
When you see deaths of a warrior lying on ground at the battle field, you might ask little or no question. But when the same warrior while in service died not in the barrack or camp, you wondered why!
I will tell the story of the Eagles...
Don't forget; anything anytime can die but not anywhere!
There were two eagles who loved to hunt for all manners of wild animals ranging from reptiles
to sea animals and even other flying birds inferior to Eagles.
There came a day when they were to go hunting, before leaving, they both vowed to hunt the biggest of the reptiles animals. However, they were cautioned not to be too carried away with the caught because of the tendency of attacks from others reptiles.
The two went hunting. Eagle one hunt a big snake but not without a fight. It struggled to be able to crushed the head of the snake. After it, as their usual deeds, carried it to the peak of the mountain to devour it...
The second eagle also was in its task for a big caught, hunted a very magnanimous mammal. It was so big that it took this eagle half an hour to finish this creature off while the battle lasts.
After defeating it, it's time to carry it on-board to the eating place which is on a very high mountain.
He took it but cos the mammal was too heavy, it falls from time to time. The eagle was curious to carrying it so he can show his counterpart what he had caught but up to no avail.
While several attempts were made, the other mammals of the same kind of the one this eagle had slaughtered surrounded him so as to chase him off their family who has been murdered.
The second eagle fell he can fight them off but the opposite was what he got. With his weak wings as a result of several trials to pick up what he had killed, to soar became difficult. In a geeve, he was bombarded and captured by these creatures. Fatally wounded, and later killed. The most annoying part is that, these mammals couldn't devour him.
The eagle one has long awaited the arrival of his friend knowing it's usual to come late for the day delivery. He decided to go for an evening patrol.
After few hours of searching and flying, he spotted an usual lying ow of a familiar body and shape like its own. lol and behold, it's his friend.
How come you die here was the first question he muttered?
How could you die here?
Out of confusion, he moved near it and all of its body were already covered with ants. Tried all he could to rescue the dead body of his friend but to no avail.
He left all alone wondering...
WHAT'S THE MORAL...?
When you die, where you die matters!
When you die, how you die also matter So!
Eagles only die atop not beneath. Many people today because of what they're after, what they're carrying, what they're trying, what here targeting will make them die in an uncharted territory.
It's more honorable to die where you belong.
Lazarus died at the right place. The rich man died at the wrong place. The location here isn't of geographical content but of spiritual!
Many will die with a lot of affluence and wealth, but their spiritual location isn't in Christ Jesus. More so, others who have nothing and regarded as poor will die with a wrong tie to their location.
VERILY VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU, THE TIME COMES AND NOW IS WHEN THE DEAD IN CHRIST SHALL HEAR THE VOICE OF THE SON OF MAN AND THEY THAT HEAR WILL LIVE... But how? When a man calls you and you're within his location, all you would do is to answer. Else there an be no answer.
Therefore, be alert as to what you chase, what you search and where. Remember, Eagles should not be found within reptiles or mammals.
Remain blessed!

You CAN HAVE forgiveness for your biggest sin;
but you NEED forgiveness for your smallest sin.
To God it does not matter if our sins are big or small,
many or few.
Just one thing matters:
WE ALL NEED A SAVIOR! WE ALL NEED JESUS!
God bless you.

9 THINGS THE AVERAGE PERSON DOES NOT KNOW ABOUT LOVE(true love)

9 THINGS THE AVERAGE PERSON DOES NOT KNOW ABOUT LOVE(true love)
by Banks Nwokeji

From the title of this article, you'd notice I said "true love"_yea, that's cos there are quite a number of other versions out there(fake ones actually). Versions like 'Eros'(sexual/chemical love), 'Philia'(love based on mutual interest), storgē(affection)..and so on. These versions are really not what I'll be writing on, but all you have/need to know about them is that they're so not reliable.

So, here are the 9(nine) truths:

1) LOVE IS NOT A FEELING: If you're going to get a clue what love is really all about then this is probably the first thing you have to know, understand and constantly remind yourself. The average guy thinks love is all about what he feels, so he 'thinks', if he meets someone and possibly feels butterflies in his stomach, then he must be in love. Feelings are generated by emotions and emotions are the most unstable things I know_ cos they're determined by so many external factors.

2) LOVE IS A CHOICE/DECISION: Christ loved us all(undoubtedly), but it was definitely not some feelings or emotions that caused him to come down from his place in heaven, take the form of a mortal man, subject himself to sheer humiliation and ultimately die on the cross_ No, it wasn't, it was a "decision/choice".
Couples who have been married for 20,30,40 years will tell you that it obviously took more than 'some feeling' to stay married for that long.

3) LOVE IS LEAST EXPRESSED IN WORDS: If you want to know if someone loves you, then you'd have to focus more on what they do than what they say. I've discovered that sometimes the people that love you the most are the ones that tell you 'they love you' the least (people like your father and mother). But, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with 'verbally' expressing your love for someone, I'm just saying it's the least way it can be expressed. Jesus says in John.14:15, "if you love me keep my commandments". He didn't say, "if you love me, tell me 'I love you"_No, he simply said, "if you love me, show me".

4) LOVE IS THE ONLY DEBT YOU OWE PEOPLE: This is certainly a though one but, it's the truth. Rom.13:8,"owe no man anything but to love one another". It's no doubt 'loving everyone' is going be tough(really tough) cos not everyone deserve it from you. Buh, hey_you still owe them.

5) LOVE HAS NO REASON: Once you can think of a reason why you love someone, just know it's not true love. For example, if you ' supposedly' love someone because they are *pretty/handsome, then when that beauty fades(which it certainly will), then the love fades with it. OR if you love them cos they're rich, then when the wealth goes, the love goes too_ this is not love.

6)LOVE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SEX: This fatal misconception is more common with the male folks. It's sheer ignorance to think sex is an expression of love. Think; if sex was love, then no one has more love than a prostitute. So next time someone expects you to *sleep with them to prove you love you love them_ just know they're ignorant and knows nothing about love.

7) LOVE IS A DIRECT EXPRESSION OF VALUE: The ideal concept of love is obtained from "value". Truth is you can't love something or someone you don't value. God loved us because he valued us. He made us in his image and put his name(attributes) on us(*that's absolutely something of value)_so, even while we were yet sinners he still had to express his love for us(by dying on the cross), because he valued us. The easiest way to develop love for something or someone is to increase your value for that thing or that person. Never forget this; value creates love_ no value, no love.

8) THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS "FALLING IN LOVE": Usually, people who 'fall in love', shortly 'fall out'. There's no such thing as 'falling in love ' cos love is an act of the will. The phrase "falling in love" from it's literal meaning displays a picture of an involuntary action. You shouldn't be "falling in"_ rather you should be "walking in/into" love.

9) THE MOST IMPORTANT LOVE IS SELF-LOVE: Truth is, if you don't love yourself, there's no way you can love any other person. The second most important commandment, "love your neighbour as you love yourself" suggests that you'll have to love yourself first so you can love your neighbour. It'll amaze you know that most people do not love themselves (at least they think they do). PS: self love does not in any way connote selfishness_No, it can simply be translated as "self-value".

So, next time someone tells you they "love" you...find out if they really understand these things.

israel's PM heads to Washington #NEWS #GEM

BEN-GURION AIRPORT, Israel (AP) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu headed to Washington on Sunday to press his case against an emerging deal on Iran's nuclear program in a contentious address to the U.S. Congress, which he said he is delivering out of concern for Israel's security.

The address has caused an uproar that has exposed tensions between Israel and its most important ally, the United States. In accepting a Republican invitation to address Congress, Netanyahu angered the White House, which was not consulted with in advance of the invite, as well as Democrats who were forced to choose between showing support for Israel and backing the president.

Netanyahu plans to express his disapproval over a potential deal between Iran and world powers that he says falls short of preventing Tehran from having the ability to make an atomic bomb. A preliminary deadline is later this month.

"I feel deep and genuine concern for the security of all the people of Israel," Netanyahu told journalists on the tarmac, his wife by his side, before boarding his flight. "I will do everything in my ability to secure our future."

He called the trip a "fateful and even historic mission" and said he feels like "an emissary" of the Jewish people.

Tuesday's speech to Congress has touched off criticism in Israel, where Netanyahu is seeking re-election on March 17.

His main challenger, Isaac Herzog, had demanded he cancel the speech. On Sunday, a group representing 200 former Israeli security officials came out against it. The group said the rift with Washington can embolden Iran to acquire an atomic bomb faster, if it thinks Israel is isolated and less likely to attack its nuclear facilities.

Stopping Iran from building a nuclear bomb has become a defining challenge for both President Barack Obama and Netanyahu, yet they have approached the issue differently.

Netanyahu considers unacceptable any deal that doesn't end Iran's nuclear program entirely. Obama appears to be willing to leave some nuclear activity intact, backed by safeguards that Iran is not trying to develop a weapon.

Iran says its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes

the WONDERS OF THE SPOKEN WORD

.OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL...

DATE : TUESDAY 6 JANUARY 2015

THEME : THE WONDERS OF THE SPOKEN WORD

Memorise :

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Genesis 1:3

Read ; Genesis 1:1-3

1 IN the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR : ISAIAH 15:1-19:15 and ACTS 4:23-37

Message

Isaiah 55:10-11 establishes the wonders- working power of the spoken Word of God. The Word of God can transform darkness to light ( Genesis 1:3 ). This is why in Mark 10:46-52, when Bartimaeus cried for recovery of his sight, all Jesus did was speak, and his sight was restored. Genesis 1:20-22 reveals the fact that the spoken Word of God can transform emptiness to fullness. At the beginning of creation, the world was empty and void, but when the spoken Word of God went forth, the world became full of all sorts of creatures. I prophecy that in the Name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, your emptiness shall be transformed to fullness.

Moreover, the spoken Word of God can bring orderliness to a confused situation. We see this in the story of the storm that rocked the boat of Jesus and His disciples ( Mark 4:35-41 ). All Jesus did was to speak peace to the confusion on the sea, and there was calm. This same spoken Word of God can go into the bowels of the earth to bring the dead buried there back to life ( John 11:39-44 ). I want to encourage you to identify genuine prophets of God and never trivialise the word that comes out of their mouth. In 2 Kings 4:1-7, we read about the word of prophet of God to a poor widow whose sons were about to be sold into slavery. The moment the man of God spoke, the multiplying power of God went into the lone bottle of oil in her hand and the miracle began to happen. Today, as you read this devotional, standing on the authority of the Word of God, I decree that every emptiness in your life be filled in Jesus'Name.

Years ago, a man came to us for prayer. He was distressed because he had become financially bankrupt. After the prayer, he said that he know he should not come to a man of God empty-handed but he had nothing to give. As if that was enough, he begged for transport money back home. I took the little money I had then, gave it to him and said, " This money will never finish." He said " Amen" and left. Today, I know at least two of the houses he built after that encounter. My earnest prayer for you too is that whatever money is in your possession as you are reading this devotional shall not finish in Jesus'Name. Believe in the spoken Word from the mouth of Gods prophet, depart from iniquity and you will give testimonies of power in the Word.

Action Point :

Read aloud all the written prophecies in today's devotional, received them by faith and you will experience the power in the Word.

: IT PAYS TO LIVE HOLY I.

.OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL.

Topic: IT PAYS TO LIVE HOLY I.

MEMORISE : But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. ROMANS 6 : 22.

READ : PROVERBS 11 : 17 - 18.

17 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR : ACTS 24 : 22 - 26 : 32 AND SONG OF SOLOMON 7 : 11 - 8 : 7.

MESSAGE

There is a sure reward for all those who are living holy. Men will go the extra mile to get a great reward from an endeavour, no matter the sacrifices it may require of them. Holiness requires from us certain sacrifices; we have to forgo certain things. I can assure you that there are several rewards for living holy. God is not merely asking us to live holy; He also promises “sure rewards” for living holy. For example, long life is a sure reward of holy living according to Proverbs 11 : 19. Sin leads to death while holiness leads to life. You will die young if you are indulging in sin. But if you are living holy, Satan will not be able to get you into a snare that can lead you to death. Another reward is found in Hosea 10 : 12 :

“Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.”

If you plant holiness, you will harvest the mercy of God. It is glaring that but for the mercy of God, we will not be alive today. It was God who said that the soul that sins shall perish. Probably no one would be alive today if God had been rewarding us for the sins we have been committing. He will keep on showing us more mercy if we go on living holy. Peace is another reward of holy living. In Daniel 4 : 27 the Bible says :

“Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.”

In this scripture, Daniel told King Nebuchadnezzar that if he began to live holy, God will be merciful unto him and then give him increased peace. Philosophers spend a lot of time trying to find answers to questions such as, what is truth, what is life and what is peace; they always end up with inconclusive answers. The search continues for them. The reason they cannot get an answer is because they have been asking the wrong questions. The question is not what peace is but who Peace is. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. The call to holiness is actually a call to peace. Why has God called us to peace? The reason is that He is a God of Peace ( 1 Corinthians 14 : 33 ). A father will give to his child whatever he has. The devil will give what he has to his children – sickness, sorrow, confusion, etc. God will give you what He has if you belong to Him. He is the Author of Peace and He will give you peace today in Jesus’ Name.

ACTION POINT :

Find out those habits that are a direct opposite of a life of holiness in your life; do away with them as the price of holiness and you will be adequately rewarded.

"indomie-like Christian"

Title: indomie-like christian (a piece)
Someone may wanna ask; what about it? i.e. Indomie-like Christian! When a fellowship-life of a believer starts and ends with a devotional guide that's been written by a proclaimed author and 'pastor'. When the worship life of a believer is guided by paper principled nuggets, when prayer life is fashioned in patterns set by men (of God) in black and white prints; etc.
You see an indomie is a food that can be cooked within 5minutes and today it's not suprising we've got an 'indomie generation'. Like when I used to buying indomie from one Mallam across my street at Ketu Lagos Nigeria, he would pour it in a cup, add very hot water and cover it up. Before you finish typing a two 'sms' phone text, it's done. I have my indomie ready, mixed with sliced pepper and fried egg...all these stuffs lasted for 5-7minutes. There you go, I begin to eat!!!
Our worship life, fellowship, prayer, and wording life (i.e. Studying God's word) must span beyond 5-7minutes affairs. They must be moments of encountering God afresh. God told Moses "... I AM THAT I AM ..." (Exodus 3:14) and you know Moses could have relent on the fore-knowledge of God as "...THE ALMIGHTY GOD..." (Genesis 17:1). We do ourselves a world of good deeds if we discover God ourselves as Holy Spirit helps us when we spend time alone with Him in His presence. 'Devotionals' would do but little in grooming our spirit-man but self 'Devotions' would be great (and of course then devotional manuals would be the tip on the icebergs).
The word says: ...study to show thyself approved unto God...." No other man will work on your approval unto God, no other devotionals but God's word. God said the days are coming that I will write my words into their hearts and no man will teach others to know The Lord for all would know Him (of course, that's if they search Him).
I've not campaign against devotional manuals (I also use them) but I'm canvassing for self studying of God's word, worship-life, prayer-life and devotions. God bless you richly...Amen!!!
