CROSSED-OVER BLESSINGS
Text: Genesis 48:13-14; 17-19
Gen 48:13; And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought them near unto him.
Gen 48:14; And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.

Men often times intentionally perverts the normal events. What suppose to happen freely has often be truncated by people in charge.
Gen 48:13; Joseph had Ephraim to his right hand while Manasseh was in his left. He would’ve done better by placing them both before his father (and their grand-father) placing Ephraim in Jacob’s right hand and Manasseh in his left but he changed it intentionally.
He changed the purpose of nature. He changed the mandate of destiny. He perverted the right course.
Prayer:
Father, anyone who tries to take what is rightfully mine to another direction, truncate them and their plans.
Father, frustrate the craftiness of men over my destiny and purpose in life.
It is very important to note that Ephraim had no knowledge of what his father was doing. There are people who you don’t think can harm you but everything they’ve been doing has never been to your advantage.

Israel rights the wrong. He corrected the mistake. He cross-over his hand by stretching out his right hand to Ephraim.
Prayer:
Father, please corrects every wrong I’m in today by Your stretched out hand.
Father, please stretch-out Your hand and lay it on my life today in Jesus name.
Please Lord, rights every wrongs of my past, present and future today in Jesus name.
Israel guided his hands knowingly (or intentionally) by stretching it out and crossing it over placing the right hand on the person placed in his left and placing the left hand on the person placed on his right hand. “It doesn’t matter who you know, what matters is who knows you.
People can help you get to places because of your connections but if you’re not known for virtue and character, the people who you’re connected to will see to it that you’re drowned down.”

Gen 48:17 And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head.
Gen 48:18 And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.
Gen 48:19 And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.

Israel said “... I know..”! Manasseh had Joseph as his connection, he however is not known by Israel. (Gen. 48:18-19).
Prayer:
Father, I only know You and I believe You know me because I believe that Jesus is Lord and I’m saved by the blood of Jesus, therefore, please bless me intentionally today in Jesus name.
Father, please over-rule protocols for my sake and reach out to me in mercy in Jesus name.
Father, give me the cross-over blessings. Let the treasures not meant for me be diverted towards me today in Jesus name.
Father, please refused the enemy’s filed case against me in Jesus name.
God can not divert the resources of the earthen and unbelievers to you if you’re still an unbeliever. Jesus is the key to accessing all of God’s deals. Except you’re born again, you can not see God’s blessing.
Praying a prayer of faith to be saved makes all the difference.
Say after me and believe it with your heart...
Father, I come to You believing You will not cast me out, I confess Jesus today as my Savior, please forgive me of all my sinful life and lifestyles. I believe in Your only begotten Son, I declare now that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior from now till eternity, Amen.

HOW I INTENDED TO CHANGE THE WORLD
Growing up I’ve learnt how to change the world?
How?
#1.
Change Yourself: what calls for growth is the ability to change. Imagine a child born who refuses to change? Every child changes. As a child I’ve had to changed from sucking breast milk to eating food. I changed from crawling to walking. From babbling to talking. Friends, it starts and ends with you. It’s your world. CHANGE.
“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong” Abraham Lincoln.

Be Different: why do my Mama wanna always beat the heck out of me? I was differently stubborn. She complains specially on me. What she said don’t touch interests me. Where she says don’t go invites me. I don’t want to live that kind of life anymore. Ask yourself. Do you answer call for any boss? Do you still have to work for other people’s dream and your own is at the verge of drowning. Wake up pal. Be different.

Don’t accept status quo. Change your life by choosing to be different.

So you must know the MARKET you’re about to venture into a bit not necessarily very well (but it is important to know it well as times goes on). So know your market is the first thing.
2. HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW THE PRODUCT: there are hundreds of thousands products littered everywhere in our world today. Starting from Home appliances, Health packages, Body lotions, Preservatives, Washing products, Consumables, etc. It is therefore important for you to know the product you’re about to partner with very well. You may ask but how? Simple. How would you know a product is either by sampling it or experiencing it. If you like Coca-Cola, it means you have drank it before. So that’s it.

The POWER OF TEST!
POWER OF TESTINGS
Test has amazing power.
It was another Student Union Government (SUG) election in my school that year. I had been in support of a very particular guy, I've moved from class to class showing him support (I used to be very popular then). So my moving with him from class to class speaks volume.
His opponent who also is from my classroom, was also popular. Suddenly this guy had to step down for obvious reason. We were left with only this guy I was supporting.
To skip to the details, the SEC chairman said she wasn't going to conduct election on a basis of 'non-oppose' candidacy.
I was forced to run for the post myself. That was less than 24hrs to election day. I picked a form and it was like a volcano outbreak 'Singapore for STUFESS President'.
It was obvious I was gonna win, people loved me, (or so I thought), I was very famous. So, here comes the manifesto night. We were to present what we would do if elected. Apparently the 'Jagabans' or 'Big-brodas' had typed my manifesto, did posters, make noise and told me what to say and so on.
I was confident ahead of the manifesto. Suddenly it was my turn to talk. After doing all, it was hot-seat question time. As questions rolled in, I murmured to myself "for me to serve them, they were gonna test me." How serious that was for me. Amongst all those who tested me (of course from the opponent caucus) was someone I couldn't have thought would test me with questions. I was bittered right there with him.
Power of Test downed on me right there.
God even test men. People test people, Parents test their children and vice-versa, Pastors test members, Members test their leaders and Bosses test their employees.
No one wants to be tested. It's a mindset of don't cross my line approach everyone of us had set. There are couple who test each other even God.
Genesis 22:1;... after these things, God did test Abraham!
Why would you test a man if it wasn't for to:
1. Knowing his stand
2. Knowing his worth.
TEST has absolute power to reveal where and who you are. Everyone once has been tested. Where you are was as a result of a test. Think about it. No man will promote or recommend you when they've not tested you or seen you tested.
Show me a man who's successful and I'll show you a man who has passed a test. If you're a graduate today, you knew how many tests you had undertaken and passed.
Without Test there's no Rest. You want to Rest go for your Test. Doctors wouldn't operate you except you've carried out the test(s) you've been asked.
Friends, embrace your test as it has power to place you to the proper position. Don't avoid it, don't postpone it.
Look through the Bible, Abraham was tested, so was Moses, Joshua, David, etc.
Almost Everyone will want to test you, brace-up for it. If you pass your tests, you'll be have your Testimony. Without test there can be no testimony. Ask Abraham. Men will handover to you, your needed rest when tested and passed.
Don't run from it, run for it.
Don't avoid it, approach it.
Don't exempt it, execute it.
God is faithful who will not test you beyond the measure.

#GEMNews: Breaking news! TOP NEWS Kurdish Forces Take Iraqi City From ISIS in Major Offensive
SINJAR, Iraq — Kurdish and Yazidi fighters retook Sinjar on Friday
morning, on the second day of a major offensive to reclaim this city in
northern Iraq, which has been under the brutal domination of the Islamic State
for more than 15 months.
The pesh merga forces of the Kurdish government advanced to the
center of the devastated city from the east, passing the rubble of empty houses
and abandoned shops with battered metal storefronts. There they linked up with
a Kurdish force that had advanced from the west, including fighters from a
separatist group based in Syria known by the Kurdish abbreviation Y.P.G. and
from the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or P.K.K.
Members of the Yazidi religious minority, which faced rape,
enslavement and death in large numbers after the Islamic State overran Sinjar
in August 2014, took part in the fight.

Amid deafening bursts of celebratory gunfire, a Yazidi militia
fighter with a walrus mustache, Edo Qasim Shamo, proclaimed excitedly that the
moment of his people’s “liberation” was finally at hand.
But even as he spoke, exchanges of gunfire in the northern part of
the city made clear that it had not been entirely cleared of Islamic State
fighters or the bombs they had planted.
Shawkat Abdullah Haji, a private who had belts of ammunition draped
around his neck, said he had been moving through Sinjar’s streets since 9 a.m.
He, too, warned a visitor not to head north, into the heart of the city,
because it was “not clear” yet.
As Kurdish combat engineers fanned out to clear a road south of the
city of improvised explosive devices, the whistle of an incoming Islamic State
mortar round could be heard. It fell short.
An amalgam of Kurdish and Yazidi forces joined in the assault, many
of them flying separate flags. There were members of the Kurdish group Zeravani
Force, led by Maj. Gen. Aziz Waisi, and Yazidi members of the Kurdish-led pesh
merga. But fighters from an independent Yazidi militia led by Heydar Shesho
also joined in the fight, as did the Y.P.G.

LONDON — The Pentagon
said on Friday that it is “reasonably certain” that an American airstrike
killed Mohammed Emwazi, the Islamic State’s most notorious executioner.
Col. Steve Warren, a
spokesman for the American-led coalition fighting the militant group, told
reporters at a news briefing that the airstrike on Thursday took place near the
Islamic State stronghold of Raqqa, Syria. He said the Pentagon was still
seeking final verification that Mr. Emwazi, a 27-year-old British citizen who
became known as Jihadi John, was killed in the strike.
On Friday, a senior
official with the United States military said it had used a Reaper drone armed
with Hellfire missiles to attack a car in which Mr. Emwazi and another militant
were thought to be traveling. “We think we got him,” said the official, who
spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss operational details.
Calling the Islamic State
an “evil terrorist death cult,” Prime Minister David Cameron of Britain
defended the decision to target Mr. Emwazi, who was born in Kuwait and is a
naturalized British citizen, as “an act of self-defense” and “the right thing
to do.”

“We have been working,
with the United States, literally around the clock to track him down,” Mr.
Cameron said in London. “This was a combined effort, and the contribution of
both our countries was essential. Emwazi is a barbaric murderer.”
Using an alternative
acronym for the Islamic State, which is also known as ISIS, Mr. Cameron added,
“He was ISIL’s lead executioner, and let us never forget that he killed many,
many Muslims, too.”
At a news conference in
Tunis, Sectretary of State John Kerry said that the airstrike should serve as a
warning.
“We are still assessing
the results of this strike, but the terrorists associated with Daesh need to
know this: Your days are numbered, and you will be defeated,” Mr. Kerry said,
using an Arabic acronym for the Islamic State. “There is no future, no path
forward for Daesh, which does not lead ultimately to its elimination, to its
destruction.”

Civil liberties advocates
have criticized any official British attempt to kill Mr. Emwazi as possibly
unlawful, in a debate that paralleled the criticism over the Obama
administration’s decision to target and kill Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born
cleric and a United States citizen, in Yemen in 2011.
Mr. Emwazi, who was first
known only as an unidentified, masked man with a British accent, first came to
prominence in August 2014, when the Islamic State released a video in which the
journalist James Foley was shown reading a statement criticizing President
Obama and the American military operation against the Islamic State in Iraq.
His captor then beheaded him off camera and then threatened to behead another
journalist, Steven J. Sotloff, if his demands were not met.
Two weeks later, the
Islamic State released a video showing the masked man beheading Mr. Sotloff.
The Washington Post
revealed Mr. Emwazi’s identity in February, reporting that he grew up in a
well-off family that moved to Britain when he was a child, and that he had
studied computer science at the University of Westminster. The revelation
touched off intense examination of the causes of radicalization among Muslim
immigrants in Europe.
Mr. Emwazi was part of a
group of network of friends, called the “North London Boys” by some
intelligence analysts, who prayed at the same mosque and became captivated by
an Egyptian-born cleric, Hani al-Sibai. Mr. Sibai is thought to have close
links to the Tunisian branch of Ansar al-Shariah, a Salafist group that has
been linked to a deadly attack in June on tourists in Tunisia.
The leader of this
network was Bilal al-Berjawi, who was stripped of his British citizenship in
2011 after he went to Somalia to join the Islamist group known as the Shabab,
and was killed by an American drone strike the next year. That same year,
Mohamed Sakr, another friend, was also killed by a drone strike in Somalia.
British officials have
said that Mr. Emwazi was on a list of potential terror suspects since 2009, but
that they were unable to prevent him from traveling to Syria in 2013.
Mr. Foley’s parents, John
and Diane Foley, said they were not comforted by the news of the attack. “If
only so much effort had been given to rescuing Jim and the other hostages who
were subsequently murdered by ISIS, they might be alive today,” they said in a
statement.
Reg Henning, the brother
of the British aid worker Alan Henning, one of Mr. Emwazi’s victims, told the
BBC, “I was glad to hear he had been killed, but I would have preferred him to
have been brought to justice.” A trial, he added, might have “dragged on for
months and months.”
Bethany Haines, the
daughter of another victim, David Cawthorne Haines, said she felt “an instant
sense of relief” in learning about the attack, because it meant “he wouldn’t
appear in anymore horrific videos.”
Mr. Cameron praised the
American decision to target Mr. Emwazi, saying: “The United Kingdom has no
better friend or ally.”
He added, “If this strike
was successful — and we still await confirmation of that — it will be a strike
at the heart of ISIL, and it will demonstrate to those who would do Britain,
our people and our allies harm we have a long reach, we have unwavering
determination and we never forget about our citizens.”
Mr. Emwazi’s other
victims were Kenji Goto, a journalist, and Haruna Yukawa, an adventurer, both
Japanese, and an American aid worker, Peter Kassig, also known as Abdul-Rahman
Kassig.
The leader of the
opposition Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn, said that Mr. Emwazi should ideally
have faced trial. “It appears Mohammed Emwazi has been held to account for his
callous and brutal crimes,” Mr. Corbyn said in a statement on Friday. “However,
it would have been far better for us all if he had been held to account in a
court of law. These events only underline the necessity of accelerating
international efforts, under the auspices of the U.N., to bring an end to the
Syrian conflict as part of a comprehensive regional settlement.”
In August, a British
drone strike, its first inside Syria, killed three people suspected of being
members of the Islamic State, including two British citizens, Reyaad Khan and
Ruhul Amin.
Britain is not formally
taking part in military action in Syria — its Parliament having rejected such
an intervention two years ago — but Britain and France are involved in the
American-led air campaign against Islamic State targets.
In 2009, after returning
from a trip to Africa, Mr. Emwazi contacted Cage, a British advocacy
organization, to complain that he had been harassed by British security services.
In a statement on Friday,
Cage said that Mr. Emwazi “should have been tried as a war criminal” and
expressed concern about the attack aimed at him. “State-sponsored targeted
assassinations undercut the judicial processes that provide the lessons by
which spirals of violence can be stopped,” it said.

Tips On Recording Your Gospel Album

1. Be Led To Record
As Christians let the word of God and the leading of the Spirit be the basis. Every time I get a word to do something, I embark on it with an assurance knowing I have the backing of heaven. In this place there is divine provision and assistance. I can remember my late Mentor and Pastor and I, PASTOR ESKOR MFON, walking up the stairs in church before he went to be with The Lord. And he said to me, “I think it’s time to record.” For me this was a confirmation of what I’d been thinking about that season.

2. Record With A Purpose
For me these two reasons should be the main reasons for recording a gospel album:

- To minister, bless and impact lives.
Many record to make money, assume the lime light and become famous. But the truth is that any album that meets the two criteria above will always make money. But this should not be the focus.
3. Have Direction and Focus
Have you ever picked up a gospel album and you really can’t place the style or genre of the work? I have. Lots of Albums in this part of the world lack that definition and clear musical identity. You get to hear rap, jazz, juju, dance hall, worship, Afro, reggae etc, all in one album. Perhaps it’s a way of shooting in all direction expecting one of them to hit. No! No!
You should have a clear sound. Your identity. Something peculiar to you. If you sound close to Sir Ebenezer Obey, then don’t try singing like Marvin Sapp. Be true to your self. Your grace works in your place.

4. Get The Right Producer
There are great and skillful producers out there. But not all can properly articulate your sound. In fact, sometimes, the right person may not necessarily be a big name. I suggest you pray for direction in this area.

5. Be Prayerful
You should spend time praying before, during and after the recording. Remember a gospel album is a spiritual project. I remember a number of my studio recordings were worship sessions. Sometimes we’ve had to pray in the spirit extensively before tracking. We’ve had people so overwhelmed, they wept and just fell because we had a strong presence in the studio. People tend to feel the same presence in the recordings like we did feel in the studio.

Since music has gone so digital, there is a tendency to do everything with computers. But even when I’m recording digitally, I try as much to fuse in as much analogue or live instruments as I possibly can. LIVE instruments bring LIFE to recordings. And that’s because people play them. You see, God gives grace, but people are the carriers of it. Some musicians, especially the anointed ones bring a certain grace and anointing to a work that digital recording can never produce.
Since music has gone so digital, there is a tendency to do everything with computers. But even when I’m recording digitally, I try as much to fuse in as much analogue or live instruments as I possibly can. LIVE instruments bring LIFE to recordings. And that’s because people play them. You see, God gives grace, but people are the carriers of it. Some musicians, especially the anointed ones bring a certain grace and anointing to a work that digital recording can never produce.

This is where we really miss it in Naija. Notice I didn’t say record in a big or expensive studio. I have realized that a studio is only as good as the engineer in it. A studio can have the best of gear. But without an engineer with the requisite skill and knowledge to operate the gears, your recording would still sound poor. And the converse is also true. A studio might have just very basic gear, but with the right engineer, and you can achieve some high quality sound. My engineer in Lagos is very good. Though not your typical big studio, he seems to know his onions. And every time I’ve had to take the work abroad for further mixes, the engineers abroad have always spoken highly of his work. I recorded songs like IMELA, no other God, wonderful wonder, etc with him (you can reach him on: 08052222668 – alpha Junes studio).
What I also try to do to get that global sound on my recording is do my post productions abroad. Mix and master. In addition to recording abroad sometimes.
And you see, if God has given you a global vision, you can’t afford to do things like a local person. Sometimes the things that limit our music from having that global reach is poor and mediocre sound quality.

This is where many folks miss it. They want the break now. The thing must happen immediately. In our kingdom things don’t happen that way. God takes us through a process to mature us, and allow Christ to be formed in us.

I’ll end with this little story.
I began playing the trumpet in 1991. Yes. Recorded my first album in 2008. But the impact of our ministry has only begun to be felt. So what happened in between? One word….. PROCESS! Character is formed and molded. God tries and works on our hearts, to make sure we don’t blow it when the spot light comes.
